The Most Precious Thing You Have

Posted under Health/Fitness by admin on Monday 13 July 2009 at 7:15 am

Having been a health care worker for the last 30 years I am often surprised by how little heed people pay to their own welfare and health. My English friend (the one who wants to lose weight) is a case in point. She is more interested in being ‘thin’ than in being healthy, and she agrees that in the pursuit of being thin she has taken some substances that are definitely counter-productive from the health point of view.

When we first moved here, we were so used to a system of ‘free’ health insurance, we had not given any thought to what would happen if one us became ill. Luckily our business adviser has managed to get us private insurance for medical care, at a very reasonable rate.

My friend in the US, (NC) has also managed to get similar insurance with the Blue Cross NC.

Private health insurance does not have to cost a fortune and a bit of shopping around should see most people being able to insure the most precious thing they have, their own health and the health of their family.
