Movie: A Christmas Story

Posted under Entertainment by admin on Tuesday 25 August 2009 at 11:37 am

One of my all time favorite movies is A Christmas Story. It’s the story of a young boy that just wants a BB gun for Christmas. All he does is think about the gun and how to convince his parents on letting him have a BB gun. The movie reminds me of my childhood and those days leading up to Christmas. We are right now in the middle of those days and there are so many kids that can’t wait until Santa Clause comes. Every house would put up Christmas Lights and some of our neighbors thought that they were competing with the Griswolds to see who could fit the most lights on their house.

If you have never seen the movie A Christmas Story, then be sure to check it out Christmas Day. I’m sure TNT will once again host their 24 hour marathon on A Christmas Story. I just turn my television to that channel and leave it on all day, so I can watch this movie over and over.

Hannah Rocks Box Office; But for How Long?

Call her Hannah Montana or Miley Cyrus either way they are both rich! Ok, so maybe Disney has already took care of these ladies bank accounts, but the new Hannah Montana movie is racking up at the box office. The Hannah fans were buying the tickets this past weekend to push this movie to number 1. It may just stay there for awhile after the debut weekend took in more than 34 million dollars. I’m sure Billy Ray Cyrus (Miley’s Dad) is just a little bit prouder today and for all that his daughter has achieved so far in the entertainment world.

I don’t see any movies currently playing or any that will start this weekend that has a descent shot of knocking this movie from the number 1 spot. I do see one on May 8th that may just give Hannah and Miley a run for their money. The new Star Trek movie is going to be a big blockbuster hit and I see this movie at number 1 after the dust settles from the May 8th weekend. Star Trek has been around 40+ years and the fan base is much older and people that can afford the 8 bucks to see a movie these days. I don’t think too many Hannah Montana fans have jobs and she’s only been around a few years now.

So look for Hannah to continue to rock the show at the big screen, but danger does lurk in the near future when Star Trek starts playing May 8th.

Cartoons: The Family Guy

Posted under Entertainment by admin on Sunday 22 February 2009 at 11:29 am

One of my favorite cartoons (next to the Simpsons) is the Family Guy. If you have never seen this cartoon before, you owe it to your self to sit down and watch it one day. You will laugh and laugh some more. It’s a great cartoon and I never really thought it was that funny, when it was originally aired. I got the chance to watch some of the shows after they were in syndication and I haven’t stopped yet.

The charcters is what makes the show go. The little town they live in, is called Quahog, Rhode Island. Peter Griffith is the man of the household and he reminds me of Al bundy in some ways with a little Hommer Simpson in him. Lois is Peter’s wife and she’s a hoot too! The kids are Meg, Chris and the loveably Stewie. The Griffith’s dog is Brian and he talks too!

Just a great cartoon for the adults to sit back and watch sometime. If You have neer seen Family Guy, then just stop everything you’re doing right now and go find it on the tube. It’s guranteed to make you laugh!!
